Tami Petrey – Secretary
Area of Ministry
I began serving the church as secretary in February of 2017 after retiring from my 38-year career. I have been a member of KBBC for over 40 years so volunteering as church secretary was a perfect fit for me!
I accepted Christ as my savior during a summer revival in 1967 at the age of six and was baptized that same week. I love the Lord and am so thankful for his grace.
My formal education includes high school and one year of college. My Christian education was through the reading of God’s word and by example from wonderful parents and church family.
I have two beautiful grown daughters and two very special “sons-n-love”. I am also Mimi to three adorable grandsons who bring me immeasurable joy.
I retired in 2016 after working 38 years in the financial industry.
I enjoy laughing and making others laugh. My favorite pastime is playing with my grandsons, Isaac, Rhett and Jace.
What might people find surprising about you?
Although I love conversation and am quite the “talker”, I am very anxious of public speaking.
I was voted “most witty” and “most likely to succeed “ all four years of high school.
What is the best advice you’ve ever received?
My mother always told me to “be kind”…. simple but, sometimes difficult!
What was your most embarrassing moment at church?
I am much too embarrassed to say but it involved referring to a choir song by the wrong name!
